The way I look to see if something will run is if the minimum requirements are below TES IV standards I can run the settings easily on default, anything above that I usually lower the settings or jack a friend's computer. To be honest, they get their "min/req" stats from the game companies (see backside of games). So if anyone is to fault with your game and crap computer it is the gaming company. It does not say "You cannot play this game bc your system sucks" it is basically saying you will have a crappy time playing. For example, I can play crysis on a NVIDIA 6800...but it says I fail minimum settings..obviously I fail however I can play it but it is choppy and the graphics can't be higher than low.
